Managing Partner of Rainforest Dunas Capital, Viera Landaluce studied at Andrés Bello Catholic University in Venezuela, has a MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley and a specialization in finance at IESA. He is an expert in corporate finance, corporate governance and private equity, and has participed in several acquisition of industrial companies through several private equity investment vehicles in Venezuela and Colombia. Previously, Viera Landaluce was CEO at Cencozotti, a leading company in the chemical sector in the Caribbean and Andean regions. Currently he is a member of the board of C.A. Ron Santa Teresa and also an independent member of the invesment committee of Evolvere Capital, a private equity firm with several industrial and services assets in Venezuela.
Javier earned a BA in Business from Universidad de Navarra and holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA®) designation.
He joined from Fonditel, the Telefónica pension fund manager, where he worked five years as an analyst in the alternative assets team.
During those years, he was responsible for the analysis, execution and monitoring of investments and divestments of international and local funds, managing a portfolio of more than 75 private equity, real estate, infrastructure and private debt assets. He also collaborated in the development of the Evergreen program; introduced improvements in due diligence process, enhanced the fund selection process and established ESG guidelines among others.
